Meet Alex Neumann

Alex Neumann is a 24 year old up-and-coming professional pickleball superstar. Neumann was first exposed to the sport in 2021 by his birth mother. Before this discovery, Neumann started out as a practice player on the college varsity tennis team at Northwestern University, then continued on to graduate a year early. Neumann shared, “I have gay parents, and the marriage equality movement inspired me to get into politics after college”. He then continued with this passion and started off working for Mayor Pete Buttigieg’s campaign for President. Now he currently works for a tech company in New York called Via. 

After being introduced to the sport, Neumann quickly realized that his tennis background will significantly help his pickleball game. Neumann is incredibly quick on the court, and has a wickedly powerful forehand. Alex finds himself to be most successful when playing aggressively on the court, close to the net, and strikes the ball with powerful spin. Neumann’s two favorite shots are his forehand drive and his two handed backhand speed up.

Neuamnn loves thrift shopping and doesn’t buy any non-athletic clothes brand-new. Newman also admits to being a terrible cook. He says “if I have to cook, the only thing I can make for myself is chicken.”
