Jim is a retired lawyer and a former longtime tennis player who converted to pickleball over ten years ago. Jim was born in Cleveland, Ohio and has lived in Phoenix for the last 50 years—though he remains a loyal fan of all things Cleveland.
He spent his career in civil litigation as an equity partner with a national law firm. He discovered pickleball by accident in 2012 and was hooked immediately. He is now a 5.0 player and has won over 100 competitive events, including a gold medal at Nationals. Jim created and runs the annual MS Charity tournament, which donates all proceeds to multiple sclerosis research. He also performs statistical analysis of the game, consults on court construction, and is a frequent writer on all things pickleball. Outside of pickleball, Jim spends time with his beautiful wife, Annie, five daughters, and three cats, and enjoys board games, cards, and all things related to Cleveland sports.
