Meet JW Johnson

JW Johnson started playing pickleball about 3 1/2 years ago, back when he was still playing tennis. One day, JW’s family wanted to do something fun and found pickleball, ever since then JW has been in love with the sport. JW grew up in Pittsburg Kansas which is an hour and a half south of Kansas City.

JW has won numerous tournaments and is currently one of the best professional pickleball players in the PPA according to the most recent rankings. JW has been playing pickleball since 2011 and is known for his consistent and powerful shots. He is always someone to keep an eye out for when watching tournaments. He is also highly respected for his sportsmanship and respect for the game. He is an ambassador for the sport of pickleball and actively promotes it to a broader audience. He recently knocked out Federico Staksrud, the number 2 ranked player in singles out of the semifinals at the Vulcan Indoor National Championship, as well as winning his first PPA gold medal in men’s doubles alongside Dylan Frazier.
