Biggest Event in Pickleball to Help Local North Texas Community; Donors Earn Pickleball Central Discounts and Chance to Win Championship Prizes…

The Opendoor Pickleball World Championships and the North Texas Food Bank are joining forces for a community food drive at the biggest event on the global pickleball calendar. The drive will run Monday, Nov. 2, through Thursday, Nov. 5.

Hosted by the Carvana PPA Tour, the Opendoor Pickleball World Championships will take place at Brookhaven Country Club from Nov. 2-8, and the event is a natural opportunity to give back to the North Texas community.

Fans, players, and neighbors are invited to take part via these options located at the entrance to Pickleball Boulevard near the ticketing booth:

  • Online: Scan the QR code provided on-site to give directly to North Texas Food Bank.
  • In person: Food donations will be accepted at the designated drop-off location.

Organizers are asking for non-perishable and canned items only. Items that are expired or have damaged packaging cannot be accepted.

Thank-You Perks for Donors

  • $5 or more: Receive a 10% Pickleball Central discount, redeemable on-site at the championships.
  • More than $50: Receive the Pickleball Central discount and be entered into a raffle to win Opendoor Pickleball World Championships prize pack valued at up to $75.

Online donors should show a screenshot or receipt of their donation to claim their discount.

Those who donate food in person will receive their discount on-site. The raffle winner will be contacted on Saturday, Nov. 7.

“Pickleball has always been about bringing people together, and this food drive is a natural extension of that,” said Jacob Cohen, Chief Revenue Officer for the PPA Tour. “We’re proud to see the Opendoor Pickleball World Championships use the week’s energy to help North Texas families put food on the table.”

“We could not do what we do in the fight against hunger without the strong support of our community and events like the Opendoor Pickleball World Championships,” said Trisha Cunningham, President & CEO of the North Texas Food Bank. “In North Texas, nearly 800,000 people now face hunger, including 1 in 4 children. We’re grateful for this partnership that will help provide critical support to children and families across our community.”

Fans are encouraged to attend the championships, with tickets starting at $25. World No. 1 players Anna Leigh Waters and Ben Johns are among those scheduled to compete in the iconic tournament.
