Meet Brooke Buckner

Brooke Buckner, originally from Cleveland,Ohio, spent most of her upbringing in Delray Beach, Florida. She attributes her personal hero and the source of her admiration to her beloved mom. Prior to her involvement in the world of pickleball, Buckner served as an assistant coach for women’s tennis at UNC Charlotte. A fascinating fact about Buckner is that her all-time favorite food is mashed potatoes, and her go-to song is “Seven Nation Army” by The White Stripes. 

Brooke credits her experience playing college-level tennis for her current success as a professional pickleball player. “Tennis helped me prepare for the pressure that comes with playing at a professional level in pickleball and instilled in me the kind of work ethic it takes to compete at the highest level,” says Buckner. In fact, she only began playing pickleball in October 2020, a few months after the birth of her son. Yet, as a sponsored professional pickleball athlete, Buckner has already made an impressive impact on the sport. Sponsored by Joola, she has earned a spot in the top 10 of the PPA Pro Women’s Singles standings, and is also an integral part of the MLP Challenger League, playing for the Atlanta Bouncers alongside Ben Newell.
