PRO TOUR OF PICKLEBALL ADDS TOUR STOP AT LEGACY SPORTS PARK

The PPA Tour will move the Foot Solutions Arizona Grand Slam to a brand-new venue starting Feb. 2022 after inking a 5-year deal with Legacy Sports USA.
SALT LAKE CITY, UT (June 15, 2021) – The Professional Pickleball Association announced today that it has chosen Legacy Sports Park as the site of the 2022 Foot Solutions Arizona Grand Slam in order to accommodate the growing number of both amateur and professional pickleball players enrolled in the tournament. Legacy Sports USA will host the PPA Tour event every February for the next five years at its 320-acre, multi-use family sports and entertainment complex that is set to open in January of 2022.
The Foot Solutions Arizona Grand Slam will kick off the PPA Tour’s new partnership with Legacy Sports USA on February 16-20, 2022. The event will welcome the top pros in the world and feature a hefty payout to all pro divisions. Legacy Sports Park’s state-of-the-art pickleball facility features a total of 41 pickleball courts, including a 2,500-seat covered Stadium Court, as well as four medal courts.

The PPA Tour is the Professional Tour of Pickleball, showcasing the finest male & female athletes in all of pickleball. The 2022 PPA Tour season will feature some of the biggest tournaments in pickleball history and encompass 20 events (including five world-class Majors) in 13 U.S. states and 1 Canadian province. The PPA Tour welcomes both professional and amateur pickleball players and prides itself on creating an elite pickleball experience for everyone. Some of the top-ranked pros who are contracted PPA athletes and are currently competing exclusively on the PPA Tour include Ben Johns, Matt Wright, Tyson McGuffin, Riley Newman, Collin Johns, Simone Jardin, Lucy Kovalova, Catherine Parenteau, Jessie Irvine, Callie Smith, Dekel Bar, Jeffery Warnick, Joey Farias, Kyle Yates, Irina Tereschenko, Leigh Waters, Anna Leigh Waters, and Tyler Loong. These players will attend the 2022 Foot Solutions Grand Slam.
The PPA Tour debuts its new tournament breakdown in 2022 which splits events into four categories (Majors, 1,000s, 500s, and 250s). Each category features a staggered system of points awarded to players based on their results that determine future tournament seedings, rankings, and end-of-season champions. As a PPA 1000, the Foot Solutions Arizona Grand Slam will welcome thousands of players and spectators and will be broadcasted live to ESPN+ as well as other national networks.

Legacy Sports Park is a privately owned, 320-acre multi-use family sports and entertainment complex in Mesa, Ariz., currently under construction with plans to officially open to the public in January of 2022.
