Pickleball Court Colors — Acrytech Has You Covered

Author: Andrew Gilman | June 18, 2024

When it comes to pickleball courts, Acrytech is the name to know.

If you’ve watched or been to a PPA Tour event, you’ve probably seen their work, or even walked on it if you’ve been or played at a PPA tournament.

Acrytech products have been used at more than 60 PPA venues and the company has been the official surface of the PPA Tour since 2000. You’ll see its work at 23 stops this season on the PPA Tour this year alone. It even sponsors PPA Tour player Meghan Dizon.

The PPA Tour believes in Acrytech, but the interesting thing is, you can, too. Want to build a court? You can with their help and you can get whatever color combinations you’d like.

“We’ll provide any color coatings the customer wants,” said Mandi Harris, marketing director for Acrytech.  “Our online court designer allows clients to mock up a court using any combination of colors.  This allows clients to visualize what their color combination will look like on a final court.  And we can even do custom colors.  We’ve done this for some colleges and universities.”

Anyone can just head over to the website at atsports.com and start putting together your very own design. Thirty colors are available, including some wild ones like bright orange and violet. Want to come up with another color? They can probably do that, too.

“Anything goes these days,” Harris said. “ We’ve done some unexpected combinations that end up looking great. We’re seeing more vibrant colors and multiple colors on a court (not just one or two colors). People are even using colored line paint in their designs.”

You start with a blank canvas and Acrytech will supply the colors.

“The most common colors include Competition Green, Pro Green, Pro Blue, Standard Blue and Light Blue,” Harris said. “But we’re seeing more use of Slate, Crimson, Red, and Competition Blue.

“We see a lot of Light Blue and Standard Blue, Light Blue andCompetition Blue and Competition Green and Competition Blue.  But Slate and Crimson and even some of our earth tone combinations are increasing in popularity.”

Some combinations that worked out really well for the PPA and Acrytech were the monochrome courts at San Clemente in 2022, the Grey and Slate at the Atlanta Open and the Red and Slate at Red Rock.

Obviously, some colors are going to be more expensive than others and custom combinations may cost a bit more, too, but, “shouldn’t you get what you want,” Harris said.

Good point.

“Choose something that works well in your space, indoor or outdoors.”
