Vivienne David was originally born in Canada, and her parents are originally from Slovakia. David lived in Florida for 17 years, and then later moved to Texas, in June of 2020. David is the second youngest out of seven children, (six girls and one boy). She was homeschooled and also played a lot of junior tennis tournaments growing up. She started to play some pro tournaments but then quickly realized that she was burnt out and no longer wanted to continue tennis.
At the age of 15, David started to work at her dad’s tennis and pickleball retail store in southwest Florida, where she had first heard of pickleball in (2013). The first time she had heard of pickleball, David definitely was not attracted to it by any means, and believed that it was an older person sport. Little did she know she definitely would have never imagined playing it full time and traveling all over the country to compete. In 2018, David started playing more and actually really started to enjoy it. She played several local Florida tournaments in 2019, one of which she won the singles title “2019 World Pickleball Championships”. Almost all of the top pros were participating in that tournament, so winning the singles was a big accomplishment for her and she definitely did not think that would happen. After that was the moment when David started to think that maybe she would want to start practicing quite a bit more and seeing where this could go.
In 2020, David went all in and played full time, and has been enjoying it immensely! She is definitely beyond grateful and humbled for this wonderful opportunity to be able to do something she loves! A huge shoutout to her sponsors CRBN and Dreamland, because truly without them she “would not be able to do this. The beauty of the sport is that there’s so many things to learn, there’s never a time in the journey, where one feels like they have mastered it all. That’s why it keeps me coming back for more.” David is also a part of the MLP premier league team, Las Vegas Night Owls and is extremely excited for the year 2023 and to be a part of the PPA Tour!
