Meet Jade Kawamoto

Jade Kawamoto grew up in Maui, and began playing pickleball in 2019 when her dad introduced her to it, and then she started playing with his friends at their local park. She did not realize you could play it professionally until several months later. Having a twin sister (Jackie) around to practice with, having support from my family and friends, and having a tennis background have all helped with her pickleball game.

Jade and her sister Jackie attended The University of Dayton, Jade graduated with an environmental biology degree. Since turning pro, she has been determined to dedicate enough time to pickleball while also working full-time at the NCAA at a job that she really enjoys. The pro scene has really changed over the past few years, says Jade, but she hopes to stay involved in the sport for as long as she can to see where the game goes.
