What do you charge to be a vendor at the North Carolina Open?
Hi, Eric! Please reach out to Jacob Cohen on our Sponsorship Team: [email protected]
How would someone possibly get involved as a Photographer for this event?
Hey, Stephen! Please contact our Media Director, Jake Lewis: [email protected]
Is this indoors or outdoors?
Hi, Rae! The North Carolina Open will be an indoor tournament at the Life Time in Charlotte, NC. 😁
The clinic link shows the date as 3/10/23. Are there going to be clinics on Friday or is that a different activity all together?
Hey, Shawn! I’ve reached out to our Tournament Operations Team and it looks like they accidentally had the wrong dates listed on the clinics and events for the North Carolina Open. That has now been updated and the correct dates are: Kings Court – Thursday, May 4th @ 6:00pm; Round Robin 3.0-3.5 – Friday, May 5th @ 6:00pm; and Round Robin 4.0+ – Friday, May 5th @ 7:00pm. 😁
are all the tops pros going to be playing in this tournament? I do not see any of their names listed in the players list
Hi, Pam! I reached out to our Pro Player Coordinator and she said that we don’t have pro player attendance scheduled that far in advance yet. It is our goal to schedule that far in advance, but we aren’t there yet. I would check back closer to the event for the pro player list. 😁
Hi! This will be my first PPA tournament. Trying to plan the trip and was hoping to get an idea of the daily start and end times. Do you have a rough idea so we can plan?
Hi, Iris! If you are a spectator coming to watch professional matches, we typically start the draws at 10:00am local time each day of the tournament with Men’s and Women’s Pro Singles played on Thursday, Mixed Pro Doubles played on Friday, Men’s and Women’s Pro Doubles played on Saturday, and Championship Matches played on Sunday. The last pro matches played are typically the bronze medal matches that end between 7:00pm-9:00pm local time each day except for Sunday. Sunday matches typically end around 4:00pm local time.
If you are an amateur player registered to play in the tournament, we typically start the first events around 7:00am-8:00am local time (more registered players = earlier start time) and end around 7:00pm-9:00pm. You will receive e-mail a week or two prior to the tournament with the exact start time(s) of your event(s). 😁
How do we find out about volunteer opportunities that may be needed at the Charlotte tournament?
Hi, Jeanne! Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the North Carolina Open. 😁 You can find/sign-up for volunteer opportunities at this link: https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c4fadae29a4fbc43-north1#/
How do we see a list of the pros that will be playing? And will it be inside or outside in Charlotte in May?
Hi, Suzette! In order to see a list of all the pros that will be playing in each event, you will need to go to https://www.pickleballtournaments.com/tournamentinfo.pl?tid=7424 and click on “Event Player List.” If you don’t have an account with PickleballTournaments.com already, you will need to create one in order to access the information. Once you have an account and are signed in, you can click on any event (ex. Pro Singles, Pro Doubles, Mixed Doubles) and see all of the players that are currently registered for that event. 😁
As for inside or outside, we will have access to 25 indoor courts for the tournament: 13 painted courts and 12 taped. Championship Court, where the top pros play, will be inside. We may have access to 6 outdoor courts, but that has not been finalized between our Tournament Operations team and the venue. Enjoy the tournament! 🙌🏼
