How to Register

2. Determine Your Skill Level
Amateur players are rated on a scale of 1.0-5.0; professionals are rated 5.5+ (What’s my skill level?).
Watch the World's Best Pickleball
The PPA Tour has exclusive contracts with the top professional pickleball players in the world, including #1 female, Anna Leigh Waters, and #1 male, Ben Johns.
A Grounds Pass gives you access to every amateur and professional match that is NOT played on Championship Court. Matches are assigned to courts in real time during the tournament based on court availability. You can find each court assignment by following the bracket on the home page of our website each day of the tournament.
Courtside Passes give you access to all amateur and professional matches, including matches played on Championship Court. Courtside seating on Championship Court is bleacher seating and is organized on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Like a Courtside Pass, VIP Passes give you access to all amateur and professional matches, including matches played on Championship Court. However, a VIP Pass also comes with catered lunch, snacks, stocked coolers with cold drinks (including alcohol), and exclusive access to the VIP lounge. VIP seating on Championship Court is on chairs and is organized on a first-come, first-serve basis.
If you plan on attending every day of the tournament, buy a Weeklong Pass and enjoy everything you would with a Grounds, Courtside, or VIP Pass for a discounted price.
Stay Where the Pros Stay
Top your tournament experience off with a discounted stay at the Renaissance Newport Beach by Marriott Hotels. This hotel is only 11 minutes from the Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach ($12-15 Uber fare) and has pickleball courts onsite for practice/warm-up for only $169 per night and no resort fee.
Does PPA tournaments require proof of COVID vaccination?
Hi, Marla! At this time the Carvana PPA Tour does not require proof of COVID vaccination to play in our amateur tournaments or watch professional matches. 😁
Hi is there anyone I can speak to about donations to a 501c3 non-profit?
Hi, Susan! Can you give us a little bit more context about what you are looking for?
Am I reading this correctly….the San Diego Open is being played in OC’s, Newport Beach? Why not in San Diego? Then the Orange County Cup in San Clemente? Please clarify. Thanks.
Hi, Dean! Yes, you are reading this correctly. The San Diego Open was originally going to be played at the HUB Pickleball Club in Spring Valley, CA, but is now relocated to the Tennis and Pickleball Club at Newport Beach. We are currently in the process of rebranding this tournament as a Newport Beach tournament rather than a San Diego tournament for clarity. Stay tuned! 😁
Will you refund everyone who already bought tickets to San Diego (The Hub) since it’s almost 100 miles away?
Hi, Josh! Yes, we will refund anyone who is unable to attend the event at the new location. Please e-mail Tanner Thygerson at: [email protected]
I see the updated schedule doesn’t show the pros playing singles on Thursday. Is this correct, there will be no pro singles on Thursday?
Hi, Alix! Yes, that is correct. 👍🏼 There will be no pro singles on Thursday as this is now a doubles only tournament.
Hello. I love going to and watching Pro Pickleball tournaments. It looks like the Newport Beach tourney overlaps with the US Open Pickleball tourney. Shouldn’t the PPA work around national tournaments?
Hi, Amy! Yes, the US Open is April 15th-22nd this year and the Newport Beach Shootout is April 21st-23rd. 😥 We have 25 tour stops in 2023 so it’s difficult to not have at least one tournament that overlaps with another national tournament.
With a grounds pass, do you have the possibility of getting a seat on championship court or have standing room to watch matches on championship court? Or are you simply not allowed at championship court with a grounds pass? Trying to decipher the explanation 🙂 Thanks!
Hi, Marie! That is a great question. I just spoke with our ticketing team and it sounds like a Grounds Pass ticket gives you access to every match not played on Championship Court, but no access to Championship Court. I’ll talk with our team and see how we can update our ticketing descriptions so that the distinction between them is more clear. 😁
